Learn From Qualified Instructors
Robert Giles, Shihan
is the founder and instructor of the Shorinryu Karate
School. He has been training in karate under the guidance
of Ernest Estrada sensei since 1978.
Ernest Estrada, Kyoshi Shihan
is the chief instructor and senior examiner of the Okinawa
Karate-do Association - USA. He has been training and
teaching for over 40 years and was the 17th. American to be
honored with the title of Shihan by the Ministry of
Education in Japan. He has a Ph.D. degree in Asian Studies
and has authored a number of publications on Okinawan
karate-do and Ryukyu kobudo (weaponry).
Yudansha Teachers
- In addition to our certified instructors, you'll be taught
by our yudansha (graded black belt rank) students. These
individuals have been training for a number of years and
have the responsibility to pass their knowledge on to you as
a new student.
